Statesman

In a small room, two world leaders sit across the table from each other. They are unable to reach agreement and are becoming increasingly frustrated as neither feels they are making any progress. As an experienced statesman, your job is to use your skills to aid these leaders in reaching an agreement. Prior to the meeting, you researched all the issues. You worked through several scenarios. You understand both sides. You know what they want and what they are willing to give up. Your cooperative nature is helpful in keeping things calm. You prevent the situation from escalating out of control. You realize that no one wins unless everyone wins and you impart to the others that there must be “give and take” for an agreement to be reached. These same personality traits define our “financial statesman” as well.

Cruise Director

As passengers board the luxury liner, they are looking for a friendly face to help them have fun on their trip. You stand ready as the ship’s cruise director. Your enthusiastic personality allows people to warm up to you immediately. Your
spontaneity is refreshing and your laid back attitude is exactly what the doctor ordered. You are able to adjust on the fly and are unfazed as unexpected events occur. This cooperative style is greatly appreciated by those you interact with during their vacations. People will remember you as kind, giving
and lots of fun.

Litigator

The courtroom is hushed as you stand to give your closing argument. Many in the courtroom have watched you at work in the past. Your analytical nature ensures that you are prepared and no detail is left untouched as you prepare your case. Your
assertive style helps you convince people of your point of view while remaining undeterred as the other side counters your argument. You enjoy the battle. You are focused on one thing, winning the case. The tendency to be analytical and assertive also describes the financial litigator as well.

Race Car Driver

The green flag drops and you hit the gas. Soon you are driving around the track at
150 miles per hour. You change lanes back and forth trying to gain ground on the
leader. As the race progresses, you change tires, adjust your engine and

change the fuel mixture. You search for anything that might give you an edge. As the checkered flag falls, you find yourself tired and exhausted from the day’s activities. You stare at the finish line, not realizing this is the exact place you started earlier in the day. Undeterred, you pack up and head for the next race confident you will win that one. This flurry of activity and hectic pace also describes the financial race car driver.
